Projects in Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand)
The mission of Le Hoang Foundation is to create and manage programs that provide tangible help and will transform the lives of special needs and financially disadvantage children in the United States and around the world. In our 2010 mission, we were joined by volunteers from the United States, Germany, and Vietnam. Our visit to the orphanages in Hanoi and Nam Dinh, Vietnam marked the beginning of our charity work in Southeast Asia. We delivered basic daily essentials such as food, medications, blankets, soaps, school supplies, and toys to the children. We had the privilege of meeting Ni su Thich Dam Lan, the head master at Bo De Pagoda in Hanoi, and Father Joseph Pham Ngoc Oanh, the program director at Thanh An Bui Chu in Nam Dinh, during our visit. In Sa Pa, Vietnam, we visited the ethnic minorities, Dao & H’mong, and delivered blankets to the families for the winter month.
On August 31, 2010, we were invited for a visit at Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC) in Siem Riep, Cambodia by the medical director, Dr. William Housworth and his wonderful staff. Le Hoang Foundation donated funds for purchasing a stock of IV fluids and other medical supplies to help with treatments of Dengue Fever at the start of the rainy season. AHC and staff provide care for 500 to 600 young patients per day.
Our mission to Southeast Asia drew to a close in Bangkok and Chon Buri, Thailand. We visited two orphanages, Pakkred Babies’ Home Foundation and Ban Banglamung, where we continued to delivered basic daily essentials and share a special meal with the children. Pakkred Babies’ Home is a public residential establishment where abandoned children are cared for from birth to five years of age in Bangkok. While Ban Banglamung in Chon Buri is the home to 7-18 year old boys who are in need of care, protection, and provision of social service, rehabilitation, and educational services.
On behalf of the children in Southeast Asia, we would like to thank Le Hoang Foundation’s friends, family, and benefactors for your generosity over the past 3 years in believing and supporting our vision.
