Message from Thanh

I will be the first person to admit that I’m lucky.  I grew up surrounded by a loving family that provided me with not only everything that I needed, but all that I wanted. I didn’t realize how truly blessed I was until I took a recent trip to Southeast Asia.  It was then and there that I witnessed first-hand the dire poverty that so many of our children face on a daily basis.  Things that I have always taken for granted—basic hygiene, simple health care, and the ability to read and write, to name a few—were in scarce supply in these poor third world countries.

It wasn’t until then that I developed a true understanding of how one person can make a difference in the lives of others, and the most powerful path towards change is by empowerment through education. I passionately believe that The Foundation has the power to affect that change, and albeit I am just one person, I know that every journey truly does begin with that first step.  I understand that the task that lies ahead seems daunting, but I also know that this children’s charity will truly be the seed of positive change in the lives of countless children.
